Jeremy Clarkson’s partner Lisa Hogan is ‘really proud’ he went public with his cancer battle.

Mr Clarkson, 66, revealed his prostate cancer diagnosis on his hit TV show with Lisa Clarkson’s Farm, which led to 30,000 people seeking health advice on the Prostate Cancer UK website in just one day.

The ex Top Gear presenter had planned to keep his diagnosis a secret until he realised how many people could benefit from the awareness raised about it if he went public.

She told the Daily Star:  ‘I’m really happy he caught his prostate cancer early, and I’m really proud of him for putting it on the show, because that was a really big decision. 

‘When I was filming him in hospital, at first he said, ‘Please don’t.”

She told him that the video was only to show his friend, producer Andy Wilman, his progress, but Mr Wilman managed to persuade him to show the emotional footage to his fans.

Lisa added: ‘It was Andy Wilman who convinced him to do it, to help everybody else. When the show came out, Prostate Cancer UK had 30,000 people going onto their website in one day.’ 

As he opened up to the nation, so too did Jeremy open up to his male friends about his cancer, which he initially struggled with, Lisa admitted.

‘He didn’t want to initially, but he’s got lots of friends who’ve been through the same thing and he’s been talking to them about it. I think that’s really helped,’ she added.

The show’s own drystone wall builder Gerald Cooper suffered his own prostate cancer diagnosis in series three of Clarkson’s Farm, which was also touched on in the series.

Thankfully, Gerald, 77, is now cancer-free following a massive outpouring of support from fans.

Jeremy was hit with an ‘aggressive’ form of the cancer in May 2025 but revealed in June that he is now in remission after ten per cent of his prostate was removed as part of his treatment.

It was a ‘terrible worry’ for Lisa, who encouraged him to speak about it with friends.

Clarkson is no stranger to the hospital bed, as he was rushed to hospital in October 2024 after he was feeling ‘clammy’ with a ‘tightness’ in his chest.

He needed emergency heart surgery to put a stent in to open up an artery close to his heart.

Lisa said it was a ‘big op and it was nearly open-heart surgery’. She revealed it was a bit of a touch-and-go and took nearly three hours, instead of the usual 50 minutes.

His care at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford has nursed him back to ‘really good’ health, Lisa said, adding that he is still having regular check-ups and if all goes well he won’t need any further treatment.

 Despite his condition, Jeremy has not made any major lifestyle changes and is ‘still working harder than ever’ on the farm and enjoys a glass of rosé.

He is happy and likes being able to work near home after having travelled the globe on Top Gear and the Grand Tour shows, Lisa said.

She too loves the Oxford fresh air since she moved there with him in 2019 and has been working on merchandising Diddly Squat Farm.

She has been rather successful in doing so, selling products at their farm shop and at Blue Diamond Garden Centres.

Recently, she has been behind the creation of the farm’s own Ravensburger jigsaw puzzles, which ‘sold out in days’.
