Jennifer Lawrence has entered another intriguing chapter of her career, balancing major acting projects with a growing role behind the camera through her Excellent Cadaver banner. After Die My Love and her return to the Hunger Games universe, the Oscar winner is keeping her slate varied rather than settling into one particular genre. Now, Lawrence is circling another comedy that brings back a filmmaker with whom she already has a memorable collaboration.
There is a familiar name behind this new project, too, which makes the latest addition to Lawrence’s slate particularly interesting.
Jennifer Lawrence reunites with Gene Stupnitsky for One Month Mark
Jennifer Lawrence is set to reunite with No Hard Feelings director Gene Stupnitsky for One Month Mark, a new romantic comedy from Apple Original Films and Chernin Entertainment. Deadline exclusively reports that Stupnitsky is in final negotiations to direct the project. Lawrence is attached to star and produce through her Excellent Cadaver banner. Sophie Fleur de Bruijn wrote the script, while Chernin’s David Ready and Peter Chernin are producing.

The reunion has a neat bit of J-Law logic to it. No Hard Feelings gave Lawrence one of her loosest, most deliberately chaotic comic roles in recent years, while Stupnitsky brought the film the kind of raunchy, awkward rhythm that allowed her physical comedy to do plenty of heavy lifting. Now, according to the Deadline exclusive, that pairing is coming back for a project that already generated serious heat before Lawrence joined.
The premise has the sort of high-concept romantic-comedy setup that practically begs for Lawrence’s particular brand of comic timing. The story centers on a woman who has never made it past one month in a relationship and a man who has never gone longer than a month without one.
The script was written by de Bruijn, whose background spans writing, directing, performing and comedy, making this another interesting creative pairing for Lawrence as she continues moving between producing and acting back in franchises.
Jennifer Lawrence’s Hunger Games era is also returning to streaming
While Jennifer Lawrence is lining up another new project, one of the roles that made her a global star is about to get another streaming run. All four original Hunger Games movies starring Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen are scheduled to move to Hulu on October 14, 2026, the same day they leave Netflix. Hulu’s official schedule confirms the additions.

That means viewers can once again follow Katniss from the first Games through Catching Fire and the two-part Mockingjay finale, with Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson and Elizabeth Banks alongside Lawrence. The timing is especially fitting because Lawrence is returning to Panem in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, which is scheduled for November 20, 2026.
For Lawrence, the next chapter is therefore unusually crowded with both old and new territory. A Stupnitsky reunion, another Apple project and a return to Katniss put very different corners of her career back in the same conversation.
