Scrolling through Twitter this morning, I was suddenly blinded by a bright light…
The last I heard about Bezos was his controversial Met Gala sponsorship. So when I stumbled across his CNBC interview this morning, I definitely did a double-take.
Now, he said A LOT in this interview, but there were a couple of statements that really stood out.
When discussing his tax rate, Bezos claimed, “You could double the taxes I pay, and it’s not gonna help that teacher in Queens. I promise you.”
People are NOT happy about this. To give you an idea of just how unhappy they are, here are a few examples of the public’s response.
This person thinks it’s still worth a shot:
Some people clocked the irony:
Others had a lot to say about this “teacher in Queens”:
Some had to call out his Billionaire Behavior™️:
… Especially regarding taxes:
But WAIT… It gets worse…
When asked what he thinks of Donald Trump’s current presidency, Bezos stated, “I think he is a more mature, more disciplined version of himself than he was in his first term. … Trump has lots of good ideas. He’s been right about a lot of things. You have to give him credit where credit is due.”
Well…”mature” is definitely an interesting way to put it.
At least there won’t be a waitlist at the Pearly Gates:
Some people just had to bring up Trump’s derrière:
… And other body parts:
… And his “maturity” levels:
Others were blunt about Bezos’s “sellout” nature:
Start listing them, Mr. Amazon:
