With the first event taking place 25 years in the past, the story is told across different timelines. Alongside the heist, the series also explores betrayal, family secrets, and shifting loyalties, making the mission far more complicated than it initially appears. Actor and director Giancarlo Esposito stars as Leo Pap, while Rufus Sewell plays Roger Salas.

The ensemble cast also includes Paz Vega, Rosaline Elbay, Peter Mark Kendall, Jai Courtney, and Tati Gabrielle. Released on Netflix in 2023, all eight episodes of the limited series are available to stream for a binge-watch. This is the perfect thriller show to add to the list of best thrillers on Netflix.

Interestingly, the heist thriller series also took inspiration from a real incident.

Is Kaleidoscope based on Netflix?

Kaleidoscope is inspired by a real-life incident. As reported by Seventeen, the series is loosely based on the events that occurred during Hurricane Sandy in 2012, when nearly $70 billion worth of bonds reportedly went missing from a vault in downtown Manhattan. Rather than recreating the event, the thriller series builds a fictional heist story around the idea of the missing bonds.
