From Novak Djokovic to Tommy Paul, many of the world’s best tennis players have found love off the court

While all professional tennis players are dedicated to their sport, many of them have long-term partners off the court.
Several of the best tennis players have gathered once again for the annual US Open in September 2026 in New York City. Although they hail from all over the world, many of them are fortunate to have the support of their partner in the stands.
Some couples — like Novak Djokovic and his wife, Jelena Djokovic — have been together since their teenage years. Meanwhile, there are newer romances on the tour— like the one between Ben Shelton and Trinity Rodman.
Other couples, including Tommy Paul and Paige Paul and Aryna Sabalenka and Georgios Frangulis, have marked major milestones in their relationship in the off-season.
Here’s everything to know about the significant others supporting the biggest tennis stars.

Novak Djokovic and Jelena Djokovic

Novak and Jelena are high school sweethearts.
The couple met at school in their home country of Serbia and got engaged after eight years of dating in 2013. Novak and Jelena wed a year later — a little less than a week after the tennis star won his second Wimbledon championship.
Nowadays, Novak has a full cheering section at tournaments. Jelena and their two kids — Stefan, born in 2014, and Tara, who arrived in 2017 — can often be seen in the stands.
In 2024, the whole family watched Novak win his first gold medal at the Paris Olympics.

Daniil Medvedev and Daria Medvedeva

Daniil Medvedev and wife Daria Medvedeva met in 2014 as teenagers playing competitive tennis.
The couple eventually wed in 2018 and welcomed their first child, daughter Alisa, in 2022. Medvedev surprised his Instagram followers in January 2025 with the announcement of his and Medvedeva’s second child, daughter Victoria, who goes by Vika.
Win or lose, Medvedeva will always be his top supporter.
“She’s one of the most important members of my team,” he told reporters in 2019.

Ben Shelton and Trinity Rodman

Shelton and soccer star Rodman hard launched their romance on Instagram in March 2025.
“It’s been great, obviously,” Shelton told the New York Post in April 2025, adding that he didn’t expect their social media post to go viral. “I realized, ‘Wow, people care about my life that much.’ But yeah, [we’re] happy.”
That same month, Rodman made her players’ box debut at Shelton’s BMW Open semifinals match in Munich. She also made her way to London for Wimbledon in July 2025, where she watched her boyfriend battle his way to the quarterfinals.
Rodman has continued showing up for Shelton while he returns the favor at her Washington Spirit soccer games.

Frances Tiafoe and Ayan Broomfield

Tennis players Frances Tiafoe and Ayan Broomfield have been dating since 2015.
“It’s been quite a rollercoaster of 10 years,” Broomfield told PEOPLE in June 2025. “I adore him, he’s my life partner and I’m just so glad to have him in my life.”
The couple met in the early days of Tiafoe’s professional career, right around the time that Broomfield made her professional tennis debut.
Win or lose, Broomfield loves that her boyfriend “doesn’t take anything too hard.”
“Obviously, you want to learn from your mistakes, but he’s a really light-hearted and positive person, so I don’t really have to help him out with that at all,” she said.

Aryna Sabalenka and Georgios Frangulis

Aryna Sabalenka became a fiancée in the beginning of the season.
The Belarusian athlete got engaged to her partner of nearly two years, Georgios Frangulis, in March 2026. Frangulis proposed near a swimming pool that was surrounded by candles and flowers.
“You & me, forever ♾️ 3.3.26 💍🤍,” she captioned her Instagram post.
The tournament champion and the Brazilian entrepreneur began dating in early 2024. Sabalenka has called his constant support “priceless.”
“There was a really tough period where I was really happy to have him by my side, always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff,” she told PEOPLE in August 2024.
The tennis star is also a big fan of Frangulis’ superfood brand, Oakberry. She is a company ambassador and has her very own signature açaí bowl.

Tommy Paul and Paige Paul

Tommy Paul and Paige Paul (formerly Lorenze) are another couple who marked a major relationship milestone in 2026.
The athlete and the influencer tied the knot in July after getting engaged the year prior in a romantic beachside proposal. The couple, who have been dating since 2022, got married in front of friends and loved ones at Old Westbury Gardens, a mansion in Long Island, N.Y.
“You bring out the softest, most fun side of me. You make me optimistic, inspire me, and encourage me in everything I do,” Paige wrote on Instagram in September 2024. “You are my rock, my best friend, my Tommy. I love you so much.”
Paige can often be seen watching her husband from the players’ box. On occasion, the couple hit the court together, but the pro athlete told PEOPLE in April 2025 that it’s a rare occurrence these days.
“I always tell her that I’ll go out and play tennis with her, and then I always get lazy when it’s my time to wind down, and I never end up going out with her on the court,” he said. “It’s a sore subject.”

Jessica Pegula and Taylor Gahagen

Jessica Pegula has been married to Taylor Gahagen since 2021.
The couple were first linked in 2015 and got engaged four years later. They planned to tie the knot in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic derailed their plans.
Pegula and Gahagen eventually wed at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C., in Oct. 2021.
Gahagen serves as the vice president of Pegula’s skincare company, Ready 24, and helps her run her foundation, A Lending Paw.

Grigor Dimitrov and Eiza González

Grigor Dimitrov and actress Eiza González hard launched their relationship on Instagram in May 2025.
“Happiest bday to the man of my dreams,” the actress wrote alongside several photos of the couple. “@grigordimitrov you’re one of one. You truly are my absolutely favorite human, and I can’t believe I’ve been lucky enough to find you. You’ve restored so much in me I didn’t think was possible.”
González was spotted cheering for Dimitrov at Wimbledon 2025, showing her support for the tennis star after he suffered an injury during his match against Sinner.
“Love of my life. I couldn’t be more proud of you. You are BEYOND outstanding,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “This is just a moment that will pass and will make you even stronger.”

Coco Gauff and Jalen Sera

Coco Gauff starting dating Jalen Sera in 2023. Although she initially kept her relationship private, the athlete slowly started tagging him in more photos.
“Some parts of myself I love to share, and then some parts I think I just keep to myself,” she explained to PEOPLE in March 2024.
Gauff added, “And I think that’s just the beauty of it all, that people still know me and know parts of me, but not everything. So I do feel like my life is a little bit in my hands too.”
In September 2025, Gauff shared a photo with Sera on Instagram for the first time and they were later seen in N.Y.C. together around the time the tennis star played in the US Open.

Madison Keys and Bjorn Fratangelo

Madison Keys and her husband, Bjorn Fratangelo, got married in November 2024.
The couple met while training at the same facility in Boca Raton, Fla. They got engaged in March 2023 and eventually wed the following year.
Fratangelo, a former professional tennis player, is currently on Keys’ coaching staff. In January 2025, he watched his wife win the coveted Australian Open title.
“For 8 years, I have watched you wonder if and when your time would come,” Fratangelo wrote on Instagram following Keys’ major victory. “Sometimes, you thought it never would. I never cared about any of that because to me you’re so much more than what you do with a racquet.”
He continued, “Through your lowest of lows and all the highs, you stuck with it and finally get what you truly deserve. Everyone around you loves you so much and a grand slam is not needed for that. It’s been amazing to see you evolve over the last 18 months and no one can ever take this away from you.”
