Diddy’s luxurious prison lifestyle has landed him in serious danger, insiders say, as mystery surrounds what happened behind bars to earn him an urgent hospital visit in the middle of the night.
The rapper, whose real name is Sean Combs, 56, was hospitalized with a head injury early Saturday, October 10, following what sources told TMZ was a fight with a convicted drug lord at New Jersey’s FCI Fort Dix. Combs is serving a 50-month sentence for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Confusion over the alleged incident deepened Thursday, when the Federal Bureau of Prisons told the Daily Mail the story was ‘false and did not happen,’ but offered no further details.
Combs’ spokesperson welcomed the denial but said he had not independently verified the circumstances and had ‘no verified information’ that the rapper had been attacked or injured.
Although Combs returned to the prison later that day, insiders told the Daily Mail they believe he is unlikely to remain at the facility, as fears for the former rapper’s safety have reached a fever pitch.
‘There is a growing concern that Diddy could become more vulnerable in the months ahead, especially if more inmates show aggression toward him,’ a prison source close to Diddy said.
‘It is getting a little scary.’
The growing aggression seemingly stems from a spike in contraband searches following an NBC News exposé detailing allegations that Combs was living the high life with fellow inmates, enjoying Chinese-style massages, looking at nude photos and Instagram on cellphones and getting hold of branded liquor like Hennessy.

Prison insiders said Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs allegedly got into a scuffle with notorious Jamaican drug kingpin Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke last week and was rushed by ambulance to a hospital

‘They’ve had two or three massive searches within a few days after that NBC piece came out,’ Sam Mangel, a federal prison consultant who has a client inside the facility, told the Daily Mail.
Those inmates, who are now losing their own expensive contraband thanks to Diddy’s alleged antics, have turned against him, Mangel said.
‘There’s contraband in every facility, and some of them have access to phones which costs them thousands and thousands of dollars. The last thing they want to do is have that much attention brought on them,’ Mangel said.
‘To have access to those phones taken away because some knucklehead like Combs brought so much attention to himself – the other inmates do not like that at all.’
Combs was allegedly attacked by Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke, who has been in solitary confinement serving a 23-year sentence related to his activity as leader of the Shadow Posse, a Jamaican drug cartel.
Combs was placed in the same special housing unit as Coke after the exposé revealed his alleged VIP treatment, with their interactions in the facility likely presenting a unique opportunity for an attack, according to Mangel.
‘If he’s just going to the shower and Diddy’s leaving, [Coke] could have gotten him there,’ Mangel said.
‘There’s a small exercise yard. They could have both been in there. I tend to doubt there was a separation order for those two.’
Combs was rushed to the hospital with head injuries after the alleged Saturday morning attack. TMZ reported that the ambulance pulled out of Fort Dix at approximately 1am, and that Diddy’s injury did not appear life threatening.

On Wednesday, the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) told the Daily Mail it does not comment ‘on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including quarters assignment or medical status.’
The BOP then claimed in a later statement that details surrounding the alleged fight were false.
‘We can tell you that the story you are referring to is false and did not happen,’ the statement said.
Juda Engelmayer, Diddy’s spokesperson, told the Daily Mail: ‘We appreciate the BOP’s clarification, which confirms our concerns about the accuracy of the initial reports. We have not independently verified the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident, and I don’t want to speculate about what may or may not have happened.
‘At this point, we have no verified information indicating that Sean was attacked by Christopher Coke or anyone else, or that he sustained injuries.’
Diddy was reportedly returned to Fort Dix later that day, and his continued stay at the facility has stoked serious concerns for his safety.
‘There is a real concern that another confrontation could happen soon,’ a source close to Diddy told the Daily Mail, noting that Diddy’s fame only makes him a bigger target behind bars.
‘The scary part is that people are starting to worry about just how safe he really is in there. Nobody wants to see a situation where things go too far and Diddy ends up seriously hurt or, even worse, killed before he gets out,’ the source said.
‘The last thing anyone wants is for this to turn into something much more tragic that could have been prevented.’
BOP officials will more than likely transfer Combs from Fort Dix to another facility like FCC Petersburg in Prince George County, Virginia, Mangel told the Daily Mail.

Pictures obtained by TMZ showed Diddy with other inmates in the yard and also getting massages in his cell
A recent NBC News report alleged Combs was receiving ‘VIP’ treatment from inmates who were willing to do his bidding
Prison staff at the facility where he could be transferred will be watching Combs even more closely because of the recent attack and his history of allegedly ‘buying’ VIP treatment, Mangel said.
‘Combs brought way too much attention down, and to the staff,’ Mangel said. ‘These phones are contraband being smuggled in, and there’s a possibility it’s coming in through the staff.
‘So not only did he bring attention on what other inmates are doing, but on the staff as well. He’s created a very challenging environment for himself at that facility going forward, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they will move him for his own safety.’
Diddy was originally set to be released in May 2028 before the date was moved around multiple times.
Last week, it was revealed the disgraced rapper was expected to spend even more time in prison after his release date was pushed back.
Mangel said the rap mogul had initially been on track for an earlier release thanks to ‘good time’ credits and his participation in the Residential Drug Abuse Program, or RDAP.

The intensive treatment program typically lasts nine months, with inmates living in a separate unit while attending therapy and classes. Eligible prisoners who complete it and meet other requirements can qualify for an earlier release.
But Combs’s alleged recent antics at Fort Dix, allegedly involving antidepressants and liquor, as well as reports of a lengthy disciplinary record, could now cost him some of his good behavior credits and push back his release date even further, Mangel said.
‘The prison staff will be more guarded with him not only because of his notoriety but they don’t want another report that he is getting the VIP treatment,’ Mangel said, referring to the luxury perks Diddy is accused of enjoying.
‘You don’t go to prison and have access to Hennessy and fancy massages. You go, theoretically, to rehabilitate, not to continue the same behaviors. He really backed himself into a corner because of pure selfishness and stupidity.’
