Inde Navarrette Reportedly Chose Marvel’s ‘X-Men’ Over ‘Heat 2’ and $2.5m Paycheck

Inde Navarrette has reportedly rejected big projects like Heat 2 and a $2.5M paycheck just to be in Marvel’s X-Men. The fame game of Hollywood works in weird ways. After years spent working in mainstream, doing small roles brings less goodwill than the breakout success of an experimental indie horror. The kind of overnight success Inde Navarrette is experiencing is unparalleled, and this is before the Oscar buzz around her Obsession performance has taken effect. This kind of attention and demand for her talent has given the young actress the power to choose her desired project.

This notion comes from a report suggesting that Inde Navarrette has allegedly turned down two big Hollywood projects in favor of Marvel’s X-Men.

Inde Navarrette chose X-Men over Heat 2 and a $2.5M payday

Inde Navarrette has apparently been declining co-starring jobs opposite Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio and is currently leading a Marvel franchise. Let that sink in first. Page Six Hollywood has discovered that Navarrette was being pursued by Michael Mann to appear in Heat 2, which is slated to start its six-month production this fall, before she signed on to portray Rogue in Marvel’s X-Men reboot.

Navarrette declined because of her commitment to the upcoming X-Men, and she is no longer eligible to play Ashley Judd’s role, Sharlene, from the 1995 crime classic. She has made a difficult choice between a chance to work with established legends like Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become one of the core members of a team that will be leading the next Phase of the MCU.

Navarrette appears to have rejected more than just Heat 2 for her X-Men role. Additionally, she turned down a $2.5 million role in a horror film helmed by Mattias Hoehne.

“She is on everyone’s short list right now,” a well-known producer told Page Six Hollywood, citing the actress’s reported rejection of mid-seven-figure offers.

It seems like all of Hollywood is currently at her feet, and this is before the Oscar buzz starts to go into overdrive.

Inde Navarrette a strong contender for this year’s Oscars

Inde Navarrette might receive an Oscar nod for Obsession, the horror hit directed by Curry Barker that has grown to be one of the most successful movies ever filmed. According to reports, she only received about $20,000 for the independent horror movie, and Focus Features is currently organizing an awards campaign around her.

This seems to be her moment, and she is making the most of it, fulfilling her fantasy of playing an X-Men character. Her breakout performance in Obsession will bring her many more roles, but for now she is taking one step at a time, and joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to be the most important of them all.

What do you think of her decision to go with Marvel’s X-Men instead of Heat 2? Do let us know.
