- Zero Regrets on My Latest Impulse Buy: Dokotoo Cable-Knit Turtleneck Sweater, from $27 (orig. $41)
Even though I write about and test products for a living, I can still be somewhat impulsive when it comes to last-minute purchases.
Let me set the scene: It was the Thursday night before Halloween. After deciding not to buy a costume, I found out I had plans — so I did what any rational person would do. I opened up Amazon, typed in “blue sweater,” and started scrolling.
The on-sale Dokotoo Cable-Knit Turtleneck Sweater caught my eye, and that was that. I didn’t research or check its specs before adding it to my cart because, truthfully, I thought it would be a wear-once-and-then-never-again type of purchase. But somehow, my love for its soft, cozy, cocoon-like feel grew, and by the end of the night, I didn’t want to take it off.

Even if a sweater is the most elite piece of craftsmanship money can buy, it cannot — and I repeat, cannot — be itchy. Because if it is, the simple fact is I won’t wear it. That was my biggest worry for this cable-knit topper, but luckily, after a few minutes, I forgot I even had it on.
I also have pretty sensitive skin, and the fabric didn’t irritate or rub uncomfortably against my arms or neck. I’m also typically wary of turtlenecks because I hate feeling restricted, but the neckline on this one wasn’t overly tight, so it felt more like I was wearing a cozy scarf than a neck-squeezing contraption.
The cobalt blue color was jaw-droppingly stunning — it was so vivid and bright, and I loved how it made my simple black shoes and shorts pop. Plus, the cable-knit detailing was a nice celebrity-inspired touch that kept my bra lines from peeking through.
The weight of it was also well above par. When I left the house, I didn’t have my jacket on, and still I felt cozy without sweating. (And this is coming from someone who overheats quickly in bulky clothes!) At the end of the night, I threw on a leather bomber over it, but that only made me like it more. The sleek fabric seamlessly slipped under my jacket and didn’t make me look like I had too many layers on.
But the best part? I got it on sale for $30 — but lucky for you, it’s even less right now.

Over 6,200 shoppers have given it a five-star rating, and many have even left rave reviews. Case in point: “[It’s] comfy, cuddly, and chic,” wrote one customer. “This is a chunky sweater that actually fits properly. You don’t have to worry about looking like a dumpling in this one,” they added.
“[It’s] incredibly soft and flattering,” enthused another. “It feels much more expensive than it is. It’s soft, not itchy at all, and is the perfect weight for autumn days.”
While Halloween is over, cozy season is still in full swing. Head to Amazon to pick up the Dokotoo Cable-Knit Turtleneck Sweater. Then keep scrolling to shop more seasonal styles.
