Designer bags are my weakness. I’m the first to admit I can’t resist features like buttery leather and top-tier craftsmanship. Styles that endure for years will always have my heart, which might explain why I’ve had the Loewe Flamenco XL Tote on my radar for a while now. The downside is that the bag is $3,990 — but I recently came across a twin that looks shockingly similar.

As much an off-duty option as a workwear staple, Marcella is innately versatile. It’s a sizable 12 inches high by 16 inches wide, with a deep interior that promises to support everything I need without appearing bulky or overstuffed. It’s even equipped with a padded sleeve that can fit a laptop up to 15 inches.

Bag lovers know that it’s the little things that make the biggest difference — and a roomy tote is really only so useful if it has pocket space. Luckily, this one exceeds expectations with a pair of interior zippered pockets that offer extra storage for smaller items. If you’ve ever misplaced your keys or phone at the bottom of a cavernous tote, you can instantly understand why compact compartments like these are so vital to the design. 

The tidy interior alone is enough to keep me interested, but my aesthetic side is especially dazzled by the way the adjustable drawstring cinches the sides to alter the bag’s shape. With just a gentle pull, the silhouette goes from crisp and clean to softly slouchy. It has a magnetic closure on top, giving me some extra peace of mind that everything will stay secure while I’m navigating the chaos of a busy day.

The cinched leather look is truly classic, with styles like the Jimmy Choo Drawstring Tote and Tory Burch Ella Bag both ranking equally high on my designer list. But Quince’s Marcella is so brilliantly designed that it’s completely replaced those on my mood board — and I’m already envisioning carrying it on weekends, to work events, and even on planes. The protective feet at the bottom add to its practicality, too.
