It's almost time to extinguish the Olympic flame at the 2026 Winter Games.

For two weeks, the world’s top winter athletes have competed on the biggest stage in sports, delivering record-setting performances and unforgettable moments. But all good things must come to an end.

The Olympic Games conclude with a captivating closing ceremony that honors the spirit of competition and passes the torch to the next hosting city. The 2026 Games are no different, with a lineup of time-honored traditions, live performances and final medal moments set to close out the event on Feb. 22.

Here's everything to know about how to watch the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Games closing ceremony.

When is the 2026 Winter Olympics closing ceremony?

The closing ceremony for the Milan Cortina Games will be held on Sunday, Feb. 22, per Olympics.com.

Officially titled "Beauty in Action," the event will include traditions like the Parade of Athletes and the extinguishing of the Olympic flame.

As with the opening ceremony, two cauldrons will be put out simultaneously for the first time in Olympic history: one in Milan and the other in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Viewers will also witness the lowering of the Olympic flag, which will then be handed over to the next host city. The honor will go to the French Alps, which are set to host the Olympic Winter Games in 2030.

In addition, there will be a number of musical and artistic performances. Italian singer-songwriter Achille Lauro, actor Benedetta Porcaroli and DJ-producer Gabry Ponte are slated to take the stage at the 2026 closing ceremony.

What time does the 2026 Winter Olympics closing ceremony start?

According to Olympics.com, the closing ceremony will begin at 8:30 p.m. CET — which is 2:30 p.m. ET / 11:30 a.m. PT.

Where is the 2026 Winter Olympics closing ceremony held?

The 2026 closing ceremony will be held at Verona Olympic Arena, according to Olympics.com.

The 2,000-year-old amphitheater has a storied history and has hosted several of William Shakespeare's plays, including Romeo & Juliet.

Also known as the Arena di Verona, the iconic venue is a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to Italy's summer opera festival.

On March 6, it will also host the opening ceremony for the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games.

As amazing as it would be to witness live, most fans of the Winter Olympics will be viewing the closing ceremony from the comfort of their homes.

The event will be broadcast live on NBC and Peacock in the U.S., per Olympics.com.
