Holland Taylor and Sarah Paulson‘s American love story comes with multiple homes.

After all, the Practice alum and the American Horror Story star—who have been dating for nearly 12 years—both manage demanding careers that keep them from adhering to a typical living arrangement.

“We do as much time as we possibly can because work takes us apart constantly,” Taylor explained on The Drew Barrymore Show Oct. 20 of how often they share the same home base. “We’re together as much as geography and our jobs let us.”

In fact, Taylor noted that her partner, whom she first met at a 2005 party years before the relationship became romantic, often stays at her New York City residence.

“I have an apartment here, and she stays here at my apartment,” the Romancing the Stone actress remarked. “We stay together here when we’re both here.”

But although they treasure their time together under one roof in the Big Apple, Paulson and Taylor each have their own abodes in Los Angeles. However, as Taylor shared, the Bird Box actress has actually been temporarily staying at her place in L.A. instead of her own.
