Though this year has already seen the release of one Game of Thrones spinoff, it looks like fans of George R. R. Martin’s fantasy world won’t have to wait long to go back to Westeros, as season 3 of House of the Dragon is officially coming to the small screen after an agonizing two-year wait.
The biggest event that fans are excited to see this season is the long-awaited Battle of the Gullet, which was teased at the end of season 2, but should actually happen sometime this season, and will see several members of the Targaryen family meet their fate. A newly-released trailer also promises plenty of political intrigue, interpersonal conflict, new characters, and, of course, dragons.
And now we know exactly when this show will be available to stream.
When is House of the Dragon Season 3 streaming?
The new season kicks off on June 21
House of the Dragon Season 3 premieres Sunday, June 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO, and will be available to stream on HBO Max at the exact same time. A new episode is set to follow weekly until the finale releases on August 9.
If you would rather just purchase the season without becoming an HBO subscriber, you can do so on several VOD platforms, including Apple TV. However, you may want to avoid looking at spoilers on the Internet if you go this route as VOD uploads typically happen after individual episodes’ streaming/broadcast debut.
If you want to catch up on prior seasons of House of the Dragon, you can also do so on HBO Max or VOD platforms.
Will there be another season of House of the Dragon?
Season 4 has already been confirmed
Though there will be plenty of action, battles and bloodshed in season 3 of House of the Dragon, don’t expect there to be an ending this season as HBO has already renewed the series for a fourth season. Showrunner Ryan Condal said last year that he thought the series would end with Season 4, but HBO has not confirmed whether this will actually be the final season as production issues could change things. Either way, at least the wait for season 3 of this hit show is finally almost over, and fans will be able to theorize about the future of the series soon!
