Gunman on the loose as man is shot dead outside community centre in Sydney


A man has been shot dead in the car park of a community centre.

Emergency services were called to the venue in Punchbowl, southwest Sydney, about 5.50 pm on Wednesday, NSW Police said.

Paramedics treated the man, in his 20s, at the scene on Rossmore Avenue, but could not save him.

A crime scene has been established at the site.

‘Police have been informed that a vehicle was seen driving away from the location after the incident,’ a police spokesman said.

The dead man has not been identified.

Police said a manhunt is underway for the shooter and have appealed to the public for information.
