Gavin Newsom bends the knee to Kamala Harris with shock decision on 2028 presidential run

California Governor Gavin Newsom said he will not run for president in 2028 if former Vice President Kamala Harris enters the race.

Newsom made the comments in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, saying he would step aside if Harris decided to seek the Democratic nomination.

The comments come as Newsom, who is barred from seeking another term as California governor, continues to be viewed as a potential 2028 Democratic presidential contender.
