An angry Brittany Mahomes has accused NFL referees of deliberately making calls against her husband’s Kansas City Chiefs in a blistering social media meltdown.
Patrick Mahomes and his teammates suffered a heartbreaking late loss on the road against the Denver Broncos, after lineman Jaylon Moore was penalized for a false start that ruled out a game-winning touchdown pass to Rashee Rice.
The penalty forced the Chiefs back to the six-yard line and Mahomes was sacked on fourth-and-goal, handing the Broncos a wild 28-24 win, and Kansas City’s second loss of the season.
It didn’t take long for Brittany to make her feelings clear on social media, as she posted a bitter rant at the refs to her 2.1 million followers.
‘You can’t tell me you call that on a game winning [touchdown],’ she wrote. ‘Oh wait yeah I can cause it’s us. That was the weakest call I have ever seen, you can’t tell me otherwise.’
Brittany did not appear to receive much support from NFL fans on X, with many calling her criticism ironic given the reputation the Chiefs have received in recent seasons for gaining favorable calls from officials.

One wrote: ‘KC blaming the refs. What alternate universe are we living in right now?’ while another added: ‘I mean, it was a penalty. Always has been.’
At the time, the CBS announcers focused in on the perceived false start from Moore, slowing down the footage and going as far as circling him on the replay to clearly show his movement before the snap.
That, seemingly, wasn’t enough to convince Brittany, who immediately jumped online to give her version of events.
For what it’s worth, she did have Chiefs head coach Andy Reid on her side, after he also bemoaned the call in his postgame interviews with the media.
‘I didn’t see it,’ Reid said. ‘That’s one man’s opinion. I saw him move his head, but I didn’t see a false start.’
In the resulting play from five yards back, Malcolm Roach got the sack on Mahomes to end the game, preserving Denver’s come-from-behind win and vaulting the home team into first place in the AFC West.

The Broncos (6-2) trailed 24-13 in the third quarter, but Bo Nix threw a two-yard touchdown pass to tight end Nate Adkins and found Jaylen Waddle for the two-point conversion to pull Denver to 24-21.
After Kansas City’s scuffling kicker Harrison Butker missed wide right on a 54-yard field goal attempt in a steady rain – one play after Alex Singleton sacked Mahomes for a 6-yard loss – the Broncos needed just two plays and 35 seconds to take the lead.
Nix hit rookie running back Jonah Coleman for a 51-yard gain and Coleman scored from five yards out on the next snap, putting Denver ahead 28-24 but leaving Mahomes 1 minute, 56 seconds.
A 32-yard catch by Travis Kelce and several big runs by Kenneth Walker III helped the Chiefs (5-2) get inside the Denver 5-yard line with less than a minute remaining, but ultimately they failed to find their way into the endzone.
