It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season.
Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…
Heskey Jr set for Cologne
Manchester City youngster Reigan Heskey is set to join Bundesliga side Cologne on a permanent deal.
Reigan, son of former England international Emile, made his senior debut in last season’s EFL Cup – coming on as a late substitute in City’s third-round win over Huddersfield.
Daily Mail Sport reported on Cologne’s interest, along with that of several English sides including Brighton, earlier this week.
The 18-year-old impressed for England at last season’s Under-17 World Cup, scoring four goals and registering three assists in five matches.

Hull push for Tzolakis
Hull City are pressing to sign Olympiacos goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis in time for him to join his new team-mates at their training camp in Slovenia next week.
As previously reported, the 23-year-old has had plenty of Premier League interest after turning down offers of a new deal at Olympiacos where he has a year left on contract.
Hull have offered him a long-term contract and he would compete with Jack Butland for the No1 slot.

Alvarez saga rumbles on
Atletico Madrid CEO Miguel Angel Gil has informed Barcelona president Joan Laporta that the club will not negotiate with them over a deal for Julian Alvarez.
Laporta has publicly piled pressure on Atletico after making several attempts to sign the former Manchester City attacker.
But Gil – who had previously said Atletico do not want to sell Alvarez and would not even accept £170m for the Argentine – is adamant the forward who scored 20 goals last season will not wear the Barcelona strip next season.
‘I spoke to him personally,’ Gil told Atletico’s YouTube channel. ‘I told him: Please, just let it go. We do not want to sell him, and we are not going to sell him. Stop insisting.
‘But he keeps this situation alive because, in part, he enjoys it. He is frivolous and loves maintaining this relationship with the fans and the media. But he knows perfectly well that Julian will not be playing for FC Barcelona next season.
‘But he enjoys keeping this game going with the fans and the media, and worst of all, with Julian himself.’

Salah set for new club ‘very soon’
Mo Salah’s representative Ramy Abbas has teased the decision on his next club, saying: ‘We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season, but we may know very soon.
‘It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn’t want to play for, just for the sake of noise.’
MLS side Sporting Kansas City have made a pitch to Salah but others in Europe are being considered too.

Brazilian teenage left-back Denner is due to travel to England this month to complete his £8.6million move to Chelsea.
The 18-year-old from Corinthians agreed to join Chelsea a year ago and will sign a seven-year contract.
Arsenal prepare bid for Konsa
Arsenal are preparing an offer for England defender Ezri Konsa, who has yet to agree a new deal with Aston Villa.
The England centre-back is currently preparing for Saturday’s third place play-off at the World Cup, following the defeat to Argentina in the semi-final on Wednesday.
Konsa has two years remaining on his contract at Villa Park and has been open to discussing a new one. But Daily Mail Sport understands that so far no agreement has been reached, with Konsa looking to be one of Villa’s top earners alongside goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. At this stage, Konsa is thought to be keeping an open mind on his future.
Daily Mail Sport previously reported Arsenal’s interest in the defender earlier this month.

Bowen staying for promotion push
Jarrod Bowen has committed his future to West Ham despite their relegation from the Premier League.
Amid interest from rival clubs, there was concern whether Bowen would stay at the club for their first season in the Championship since 2012, with midfielder Mateus Fernandes having already left for Tottenham in an £85m move and winger Crysencio Summerville also expected to leave, among others.
Daily Mail Sport reported earlier this week that the Hammers were confident their captain would stay.

Senegal star, 18, on Premier League radar
Manchester City, Aston Villa, Tottenham and RB Leipzig are among the clubs monitoring developments with Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye.
The 18-year-old, who impressed for Senegal at the World Cup, is ready to leave the European champions this summer as he will slip further down the pecking order and wants regular competitive football.
He is now being looked after by super-agent Jorge Mendes.
City are looking for wingers as they close the sale of Savinho to Tottenham for around £65million.

They had enquired about Rodrygo at Real Madrid last year but have other options too.
Villa are braced for Arsenal to make their bid for Morgan Rogers and want wide options for their return to the Champions League this season.
They have also asked about Crysencio Summerville at West Ham while Barcelona’s Roony Bardghji has been put to them.
Spurs will sign Savinho but want two more forward options and are alert to opportunities in the market.
Meanwhile, City are discussing a move for Angers goalkeeper Max-Edgar Chabot, after the 18-year-old rejected his club’s offer of a professional contract.
