Sasha Calle has locked in a major role opposite Jamie Foxx in Deadlocked, the Amazon MGM Studios action thriller announced earlier this month, as per Deadline. Directed by Nikhil Bhat, known for the brutal Hindi action hit Kill, the film tracks a grieving former Marine on jury duty dragged into a deadly courthouse siege. The script comes from Eric Scot Anderson and Matt Takejiro Bosack, based on their original concept, which is being tailored for streaming.

Joining him as producers of the crew are Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Dave Caplan, and Jamie Foxx.

Sasha Calle first broke through as the first Latina Supergirl in a major studio film, appearing in 2023’s The Flash. As of late, she has been seen in Netflix’s crime thriller The Rip, opposite Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, and before that, Apple TV+’s neo-noir series Sugar, opposite Colin Farrell. Her earlier credits span The Young and the Restless, On Swift Horses, and In the Summers, which won the Grand Jury Prize for the U.S. Dramatic Competition at Sundance in 2024.

In Apple TV+’s Sugar, she plays Val, donning a cunning, hustle-minded petty criminal who ends up siding with Sugar himself.
