The Vafels Stroopwafels are being launched in a gluten-free variant by the Longmont, Colorado-based brand as part of the brand’s commitment to offering a free-from take on the classic Dutch treat. The product starts off with the brand’s vegan-friendly recipe that has no butter or eggs in the mix, while also being made without wheat flour to give it a gluten-free recipe. The waffle-like cookies are sandwiched with a caramel-like filling and come in two flavor options including Maple and Caramel.
Founder and CEO Will Dugan commented on the new Vafels Stroopwafels saying, “We came to market early with a plant-based version of the 18th-century Liège wafel, and couldn’t be happier to add gluten-free and vegan-friendly Stroopvafels to our list of ‘firsts.’ We stand by our commitment to creating products that never compromise on taste, texture, or digestibility.”
