Frank Lampard ends speculation regarding his future by signing new deal with Coventry

Frank Lampard has handed Coventry a huge boost ahead of their Premier League return by signing a new three-year deal.

The 48-year-old  led the Sky Blues back to the top flight for the first time in 25 years last season, yet doubt had been cast over his future with Crystal Palace and Fulham keeping him on their list of targets.

However the former Chelsea and England midfielder has now opted to commit his future to Coventry by signing a deal keeping him at the club until 2029.

Lampard said: ‘There’s a lot of work to do on and off the pitch as a football club, so those things have been ongoing.

‘I’m looking forward to getting back with the players, to see them all and get ready for the new season. The spirit and togetherness we created last year was something great to be part of and now we want to continue it.

‘Thank you to Doug King as well for giving me the opportunity to come to this football club and for his support of us. We work together and we know there’s a lot to do but we’re going to give it everything.’

Coventry owner Doug King added: ‘Since arriving in November 2024, our club has been on a huge upward trajectory under his leadership and it is absolutely fitting after Championship glory last season that he leads us into our first Premier League season for a generation.’
