Fenerbahce vs Liverpool: Andoni Iraola DROPS Florian Wirtz and picks team without recognised striker

Following on from the last post, we all know why Andoni Iraola said what he said.

It’s because of what happened in Liverpool’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal on Sunday evening.

While many of us can sit here and say that the Reds dominated large parts of that game and caused Arsenal heaps of problems going forward, they didn’t manage a single shot on target from their 17 attempts.

It’s a stat that rather sums up Liverpool under Iraola right now. They look chaotic but dangerous attacking-wise, but are struggling to convert their chances. They have only scored 11 goals in nine Premier League games.

Now, if they sort out their end product, damn, they are going to be some team.

That being said, in the Champions League they seem much more confident in front of goal. In just three games, they have bagged more goals in this competition than in the league, with 12.

They also have three wins from three and are looking to maintain their 100 per cent record this evening.

Liverpool can only do that, though, if they have their shooting boots on.
