Ezra Sosa dropped a hot take about who Maura Higgins should be paired up with on season 35 of Dancing With the Stars.
“Maura, I can see her with anyone but Gleb [Savchenko],” Sosa quipped to Us Weekly during the joint interview with sister Stephani Sosa while attending the 2026 American Music Awards on Monday, May 25.
He continued: “She literally says she doesn’t want Gleb, so I can see her with anyone. But I think Maura and Jan [Ravnik] would be so slay. Both of their accents would be so awesome.”
Savchenko has made headlines throughout his time on DWTS, even sparking a romance with celebrity partner Brooks Nader. The pair competed together on season 33 of the ABC hit in fall 2024. They were voted off during the fifth week of the competition, and Us confirmed their split soon after.
The twosome reunited for the season 33 finale in December 2024 and briefly rekindled their romance, but Us confirmed in April 2025 that they went their separate ways once again.
Savchenko was then partnered with Hilaria Baldwin for season 34. Ezra, for his part, made his debut as a DWTS pro in 2024 with Anna Delvey as his partner in 2024. Last year, he finished in third place with Olympian Jordan Chiles.
“I’ll tell you who’s not on my mind, and it’s anyone with a convicted felony,” Ezra joked to Us in April 2025 about which celebrity was on his wishlist for the future. “We’re just gonna stray away from that. If my person next season is still a convicted felon, I think I have a niche.”
Ezra also weighed in on the resurgence in DWTS’ popularity after 20 years.
“We just brought back that good feeling of Dancing With the Stars again,” he noted, sharing that OG showrunner Conrad Green was back on board. “Another thing that really helped the season was social media. You got a really good freaking season, and then we got everyone posting a bunch of TikToks just to spread awareness about it.”
At the time, Ezra called it “the perfect combination.”
Before season 35 officially returns in the fall, Ezra hinted at his future on the series.
“I will say this, we are always told a week before we film,” he told Us on Monday. “It is always so last minute. Don’t jinx it for me. I freaking hope [I return]. It’d be really great.”
Ezra also took the chance to throw his hat in the ring to be Ciara Miller’s partner for the upcoming season. “I think what’s really cool about these celebrities is, like, you can really see any of them with anyone,” he added. “I can see Ciara with me or with Val [Chmerkovskiy] or Brandon [Armstrong].”
