Five ducklings that became trapped under a storm drain were reunited with their mother after their "quack-tical rescue" went swimmingly.

Officers with the Redmond Police Department (RPD) in Redmond, Wash., received a call alerting them about the animals at around 2:30 p.m. local time on Sunday, April 12.

Authorities were told that the ducks had fallen and were paddling beneath the grate of a storm drain.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the stuck ducks, and they also discovered their mom was waiting nearby to be reunited with her babies.

In video shared on social media by the RPD, the ducklings can be heard quacking loudly amid the rescue.

The police officers carefully scooped out each duck with a net and then placed them one by one into a box of water.

From there, the officers put the cardboard box down in a grassy area, reuniting the ducklings with their mom.

The RPD wrote in the caption of its Facebook post, "No injuries. No citations. Just a happy ending and a reminder that no call is too small when it comes to helping our community, feathers included."
