After 30 years of working in Hollywood, Linda Cardellini finally won her first Emmy—and taking home the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie trophy is something she is still coming to terms with.

“I feel so honored,” the DTF St. Louis actress exclusively told E! News backstage at the Creative Arts ceremony in downtown Los Angeles on Sept. 6. “It’s an amazing feeling. I feel very, very grateful.”

Calling the honor both “shocking and exciting,” the 51-year-old explained why the celebratory moment was actually a bit jarring.

“In this business, we put it on film and then months later, sometimes a year later, it comes out,” she added, “so it’s nothing so immediate. But this is a very immediate feeling when your name’s called.”

The Freaks and Geeks alum even likened the experience to her past stint on a beloved long-running TV game show.
