Jaxson Dart has sparked major injury concerns for the New York Giants after his knee bent awkwardly on the first drive against the Los Angeles Rams.

Dart immediately grabbed at his knee after Rams defenders Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart smashed into him while he attempted a pass to tight end Theo Johnson.

The force of the collision by Stewart saw Dart’s left knee move inward in gruesome scenes. 

The 23-year-old quarterback was able to walk off the field under his own power but was moving gingerly and looked frustrated.

After visits from teammates Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely during his trip to the blue tent, Dart then went back to the locker room and Jameis Winston replaced him as the quarterback.

It comes as a bitter blow for new Giants head coach John Harbaugh, whose team was looking to build on their victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. The veteran coach looked crestfallen as he watched Dart on the turf.

Dart and girlfriend Marissa Ayers posed for a picture together before kick off in Los Angeles 

During that statement win over their NFC East rivals, Dart threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 54 yards.

The former Ole Miss signal caller is hoping to take a big leap forward in his sophomore year in the NFL after a promising but injury-plagued rookie year after the Giants drafted him No.25 overall. 

Moments before, Dart enjoyed a romantic moment with his glamorous girlfriend Marissa Ayers on the sideline. The couple posed for pictures as Ayers stunned in a red dress.
