Declan Rice left the Boston Stadium with heavy strapping on his left calf and is now a fitness concern ahead of England’s game against Panama on Saturday.
The midfielder played the full match during Tuesday’s goalless draw with Ghana, after revealing in the build-up he has been nursing a hamstring issue since Christmas. He was taken off in the 72nd minute of last week’s 4-2 win over Croatia.
However, Rice appears to have an issue with his left calf after Daily Mail Sport filmed the Arsenal star walking a little gingerly and with bandages around the muscle before boarding the team bus for the airport.
England flew straight back to their Kansas City base from Boston but will return to the East Coast on Friday ahead of the final group match with Panama at the MetLife Stadium.
Thomas Tuchel will hope that Rice’s problem is not serious, and medical staff will also likely check on Elliot Anderson and Reece James. Anderson appeared to take a blow to his back and came off in the 73rd minute. James, meanwhile, received lengthy treatment for a head injury in the first half but completed the game.
