E.l.f. Cosmetics has introduced ‘E.l.f.ino & Schmarnes,’ a campaign blending satirical courtroom themes with brand messaging on accessible, high-quality beauty products. The initiative features drag artist Heidi N Closet and comedian Matt Rife in a mix of digital and in-person activations designed to engage consumers through humor and character-driven storytelling.
The campaign’s focal point is a 60-second video, with Heidi N Closet portraying ‘E.l.f.ino’ and Rife as ‘Schmarnes,’ a fictional legal team advocating for fairness in the beauty industry. Distributed across YouTube and other brand-owned channels, the content employs parody to underscore the brand’s affordability narrative while maintaining entertainment value.
Complementing the digital effort, a pop-up event will take place on August 13 at The Oculus in New York City, where attendees can receive E.l.f. products. Consumers may also participate remotely via a dedicated phone line, 1-855-COLD-HARD-LASH, to share personal beauty-related grievances.
