WWF-Canada’s Go Wild Grants provide funding ranging from $1,500 to $3,000 to support student-led projects focused on creating and restoring wildlife habitats. These initiatives are part of WWF-Canada’s broader 10-year Regenerate Canada plan, which aims to address biodiversity loss and climate change by engaging young people in hands-on conservation efforts.

This year’s projects span diverse regions — from British Columbia to Nova Scotia — involve activities such as de-paving parking lots, designing healing gardens, and integrating Traditional Ecological Knowledge into restoration efforts.

Projects that have received the Go Wild Grants in the past include creating pollinator habitats, establishing native plant gardens, building bioswales to manage stormwater, and developing seed orchards to propagate native species. Since its inception, this program has funded 589 projects, totaling over $520,000. It has become a key platform for students to learn about local ecosystems, develop leadership skills, and contribute to community resilience.
