500 Global has launched a dedicated Sustainability Program designed to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) best practices across its global portfolio of early-stage companies. Announced in August 2025, the initiative provides startups with structured guidance on measuring and reducing their carbon footprints, establishing diversity and inclusion benchmarks, and strengthening governance frameworks. By embedding sustainability metrics into its investment criteria and offering tailored support, 500 Global aims to help portfolio founders align with emerging regulatory standards and investor expectations while fostering long-term resilience and competitive advantage.
The program comprises a three-month accelerator track that combines expert-led workshops, one-on-one advisory sessions, and access to proprietary carbon-accounting tools. Participating companies receive up to $25,000 in grant funding to conduct ESG audits and implement priority improvements. Additionally, 500 Global has partnered with leading sustainability consultancies and non-profit organizations to deliver pro bono legal and technical assistance, enabling startups to rapidly adopt green product roadmaps and social impact initiatives. Through ongoing peer-network events and progress reviews, the Sustainability Program seeks to drive measurable outcomes—such as reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and enhanced workforce diversity—while preparing startups for follow-on funding rounds that increasingly prioritize ESG performance.
