‘Notpla,’ seaweed-based packaging, is making a major leap into the mainstream as the company expands its plastic-free solutions into some of Europe’s largest stadiums. From Twickenham to Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, The Aviva, and even the Johan Cruijff Arena in the Netherlands, Notpla’s compostable cartons and trays are replacing conventional single-use plastics at scale.
Developed from seaweed extracts sourced in Europe and South America, the packaging is fully natural, biodegradable, and compatible with existing stadium waste systems — whether composting, recycling, or general waste. With catering giant Levy now rolling out Notpla at stadiums in Germany, the expansion signals a strategic ‘step change’ in the brand’s reach and influence. Notpla’s products are already in use at concerts, sports matches, and high-footfall venues, demonstrating that sustainable foodservice packaging can be both scalable and seamless for operators.
