Belgian loafers are all the rage these days, as the world moves towards quick and easy comfort. More often than not, you find the classic model in suede with contrast piping or maybe even a tonal look, but this might be the first time I have seen braided Belgian loafers. And I must say, I think that the pretty darn cool.

We can always count on the French to be fearless in trying out new styles and designs. And while this style is anything but new, the braided Belgian loafer is certainly not a concept attempted by many, if any other, shoe brands. Caulaincourt is known for pushing the boundaries of style with bold shoe offerings fit for a Parisian chic look. The new braided version of the Gattaca Beglian loafer fits that idea to a T.

The Gattaca braided Belgian loafers have a perfect color of brown. It almost looks like Museum calf, and I would venture to bet that it is. I cannot know for sure, as this brand new model has yet to hit the online store, but it is currently available at their physical store in Paris. Caulaincourt says that it will soon be launched online, so if you are curious about it but you are not located in France, best to email them for information.

Good to see someone come out with this concept. For me, it is a no-brainer, and these braided Belgian loafers would easily transition into my wardrobe as a frequently used model. Not only do they suit jeans and chinos, but I dare say, could even sit underneath linen and Summery-style suits. It really is a great version of a dress-casual loafer.
