Adria Arjona did not hesitate to point out one of the most hurtful comments she received from a director. The actress is no stranger to Hollywood. She first gained recognition with shows like True Detective before landing roles in Good Omens and eventually landing in major films such as 6 Underground, Morbius, and Hit Man. She is also part of the DCU and is set to star in James Gunn’s Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow.
Throughout her career, Arjona has worked with several directors and made plenty of memories that have helped shape her journey. However, as the actress recently recalled, one experience was when a director made a particularly rude remark to her.
Adria Arjona recalls a director’s remark that did not sit well with her
Adria Arjona recently joined Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, where she spoke about her career and upcoming projects. When asked about the worst note she had received from a director, the actress recalled an experience in which a director told her to have less of an accent. Looking back on the experience, Arjona pointed out that it was one of the rudest comments she had ever received from a director.
“Do that with less of an accent and less domesticated,” she recalled.
“He was like less accent, less domestication, being domesticated. So I was like great be less Latina is what you’re talking awesome cool,” she further added.

While she chose not to call out the comment at the time, Arjona admitted that she did not listen to the director’s notes much after the incident. Now, Arjona’s comments about the unnamed director on the podcast are not the first time she has spoken openly about problematic behavior. Previously, on John Feitelberg’s Scene Stealers podcast, Arjona pointed out that some actors use method acting as an excuse to be rude to their cast and crew.
“Can we cancel method acting? Because there are a lot of assholes in there,” she said. But apart from such unpleasant experiences, she has had memorable moments, too, as her career continues to move in an exciting direction.
Arjona is also set to star in Man of Tomorrow, and one of the biggest questions among fans is which character she could be playing. Interestingly, the actress has even placed a bet on the character she will portray.
Adria Arjona made a bet over her Man of Tomorrow
Adria Arjona was careful not to reveal anything about her mysterious role during her appearance on The Happy Sad Confused podcast, even as Josh Horowitz made several attempts to get her to spill the details. When he asked if she could be playing Maxima, the actress responded with uncertainty, simply stating that she could be. Horowitz eventually claimed that he believed Arjona is playing Wonder Woman in the movie and decided to bet $500 on it.

That is when Arjona suggested that there should be a bet on Maxima as well. If Arjona does end up playing Maxima, Horowitz will lose the bet and have to pay $500. If the bet is any indication, there is already plenty of curiosity surrounding Arjona’s mysterious role in the movie.
