A young woman has slammed men for not stepping in to help her after she was harassed by a stranger at the gym.
Perth local Rebecca Adams said she was working out on April 8 when she noticed a man eyeballing her, immediately setting off alarm bells.
‘We make eye contact multiple times. He starts working out on the machine right next to where I’m stretching, and is literally peeping around the corner,’ she said.
‘I’m like, okay, this guy is a creep. He’s gonna be staring at me no matter what.’
Ms Adams moved through her exercises and the man followed her to nearby machines, including one instance where he actively faced her backside.
‘While I’m working out (on this cable machine), my ass is facing the mirror,’ she said.
‘This guy sits on the calf raising machine with dumbbells in hand, and works out facing my ass. I’m not kidding, staring directly at it.’
As she became angrier about the blatant staring, she said men around her could ‘see exactly what’s going on’.

‘They’re staring at him. And I’m starting to get mad, because I’m like, if you can all see it, why is no one stepping in?’ she said.
‘Grown men with huge muscles with the capability to take down an elephant are just watching this situation unfold.
‘In my opinion, if you are a man in the gym, you need to step up and say some s***. I walk to my bag. I’m upset. I’m frustrated this always happens as a woman.’
Ms Adams said two young female workers, who had been monitoring the situation on the security footage, approached her after noticing she was upset.
‘It turns out, this man has been in the gym for three plus hours staring at women,’ Ms Adams said.
She added that another customer had told staff that the man in question had been banned from another gym for assaulting a woman.
The two staff members called a manager, who then told him to leave.
Ms Adams shared a message for men, urging them to help if they witness someone in trouble.

‘If you’re a man in the f***ing gym and you see some s*** like this go down, man up and say something. Don’t just sit there and be silent and watch,’ she said.
‘I want to praise the two workers who helped me yesterday. Thank you so much for stepping in and getting him kicked out. Forever grateful.
‘And to all the girls out there, just be aware of your surroundings. Keep an eye on people and report people. Report them to the workers there.
‘I should have done it sooner, but I’m so used to it now that I’ve just learned to deal with it. I should have really said something.’
Ms Adams chose not to name her local gym in order to maintain her privacy.
