Appalling moment six-strong mob clobbers elderly man outside 7-Eleven store in crime-ridden Baltimore

Distressing footage captured the moment a six-person mob clobbered an elderly man outside a 7-Eleven in Baltimore, Maryland.

An unidentified 74-year-old man was seen walking up to the convenience store on July 7 on Liberty Heights Avenue around 3.40am when he was ambushed by the armed masked suspects in the crime-ridden city.

Two of them, both dressed in all-black clothing, immediately raced up to the man as one of them pointed a gray assault-style rifle at the victim, video shared by the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) showed.

As they did so, the elderly man stopped and appeared to talk to them, but that’s when four more of them sprinted toward him.

One of the assailants walked over to a blue minivan that seemingly belonged to the man.

After peering inside, the young man joined the others as they started to rough up the man outside the store.

The victim was seen backing up toward the front doors as he lifted his hands in a bid to protect himself.

But with six people ganging up on him, the man quickly became overpowered by them.

Some of the suspects were seen throwing unknown items at the innocent man, who used the objects to defend himself against them.

At some point, the young men and the victim stepped out into the parking lot, where they continued to physically fight each other.

Then, all of a sudden, one of the suspects charged at the helpless man from behind, causing him to dive headfirst into the pavement.

Once he was on the ground, the unhinged mob repeatedly stomped and punched the old man.

The victim tried several times to get back on his feet, but the offenders kept knocking him back down, the video showed.

The violent assault went on for several minutes before the suspects fled.

It is unclear what injuries the elderly man suffered and how he is doing since the attack.

Police are now on the hunt for the suspects, who they say are wanted for attempted armed robbery.

The Daily Mail contacted the BPD for comment.

One user wrote: ‘Omg. I hope that man is ok. He held his own tho for 74!’

‘This is elder abuse too,’ another wrote.

‘This is really sad. I hope the man is ok,’ someone else commented.

A user added: ‘That is really hard to watch. Hope they find them all and lock them up.’

Others applauded the victim for holding his own after he was left to protect himself from six people.
