Alex Rodriguez's ex-girlfriend Jaclyn Cordeiro says she is prioritizing "peace" in her life, days after confirming that she and the former MLB player have split.

The 46-year-old fitness instructor shared an Instagram post featuring a photo of herself lying on a lounge chair by a pool while wearing a silver bikini. In a lengthy caption, she began by writing, "POV: You’re in your 40s and realize peace is the new luxury."

"Peace comes from protecting your energy, releasing control, and giving yourself permission to rest," she continued, before sharing three ways to achieve peace.

The first is to "protect your time," she wrote. "Peace often starts with boundaries," she explained. "Not every call, invitation, conflict, or expectation deserves access to you."

Cordeiro's second tip is to "accept what you can't control" and resist "the need to fix everyone and everything."

"Focus energy where you actually have influence," she wrote.

Her third piece of advice is to make space for yourself "without guilt." She suggested such things as taking a walk, sitting in the sun or simply doing nothing. "It’s maintenance for the person carrying so much," she concluded, signing off with, "Jac🫶🏻."

Cordeiro's reflective post came days after she confirmed her split from Rodriguez, 50, to TMZ on May 21, telling the outlet, "Alex and I are currently taking some time apart, but there continues to be mutual love, care, and deep respect between us and for our families. We remain supportive of one another, and there is absolutely no animosity, drama, or negative story here."

She added: "I'm also navigating a serious health matter involving a family member at this time, so my focus is understandably there."

A source also confirmed to PEOPLE at the time that the pair have split after three years together, but remain "good friends."

The fitness instructor and the former New York Yankees star were first romantically linked in October 2022. They officially went public with their relationship that December, with Rodriguez sharing a holiday-themed family photo on Instagram. The photo showed the retired athlete and Cordeiro posing by a Christmas tree with his two daughters, Natasha and Ella.

A source told PEOPLE at the time that Rodriguez and Cordeiro — who has two daughters of her own — initially bonded over their love of fitness and devotion to family.
