Multiple people, including at least two police officers, were left injured when an active shooter opened fire at a downtown Minneapolis apartment building Wednesday afternoon.

Officers are responding to a shooting near 15 East Grant Street, the Minneapolis Police Department shared on social media as photos emerged showing a massive police presence at the Loring Towers.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz added that his public safety team was also responding to the shooting, and noted that state officials are ‘on the ground to support local law enforcement.’

Officers are now asking the public to avoid the area.
