Emotional Gayle King sends Savannah Guthrie a heartfelt message as hunt goes on for her missing mom Nancy

Gayle King sent Savannah Guthrie an emotional message of support from the NFL Honors in San Francisco on Thursday night as the hunt for her missing mother enters another day.

NBC presenter Guthrie’s mother Nancy was last seen by her family at her house near Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday night and was reported missing the following afternoon, with authorities believing she was taken from her home against her will.

A visibly emotional King said she has been praying for Guthrie and her family after her mother went missing on.

‘It has been very difficult today, very difficult,’ King, 71, told Daily Mail, while asking if there had been any updates. ‘You know the tape that she did, that the family did. But you still have to have hope, you can’t give up hope, you can’t.

‘It’s so frightening and it’s so scary and we are all hoping that this has a really good ending.’

King said that she had reached out to Guthrie to offer her support in such a difficult time.

‘I have (sent a message) but I reached out and said that there’s no response necessary. She’s not checking her texts. I just wanted her to know that I was thinking of her.

‘There’s nothing anybody can say during this time other than we are praying. I believe in the power of prayer and I just want it to be alright for her and her family. Nothing beats humanity. But it’s very scary and very upsetting.’

It comes after King got emotional on Thursday’s CBS Morning show discussing the Guthrie family.

Her voice wobbled as she said: ‘We’re starting things a little differently this morning because like you, we’re all waking up this morning with very heavy hearts [and] praying for our friend and our colleague, Savannah Guthrie.’

Authorities are offering a $50,000 award for information that leads to the capture of Nancy’s abductor, four days after she was taken.

A note sent to TMZ demanded millions in Bitcoin for Nancy’s release, but it is currently unclear if the note is genuine.

Investigators believe Nancy is ‘still out there,’ but they have not identified any suspects, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said Thursday.

‘Right now, we believe Nancy is still out there. We want her home,’ Nanos said at a news conference five days after she was reported missing.

The sheriff, however, acknowledged that authorities have no proof she is still alive.

He also revealed that DNA tests showed that the blood found on Nancy’s porch has come back a match to her.

FBI Special Agent Heith Janke has also said that the Guthrie family are ready to engage with Nancy’s captors.

‘This is an 84‑year‑old grandma that needs vital medication for her well‑being,’ he said. ‘You still have the time to do the right thing before this becomes a worse, much worse scenario for you. Please return Nancy home.

‘The family wants to be contacted. They know time is of the essence, and if those who may have Nancy are watching this, the family is ready to talk, get proof of life because there has been no contact.’
