- Unfolded during chat with comedy duo Hamish and Andy
Fresh from winning the Ashes against England, Aussie cricket captain Pat Cummins has revealed another talent – his in-depth knowledge of Harry Potter.
Cummins, 32, answered a phone call this week from comedy duo Hamish and Andy about the young wizard, and didn’t disappoint.
Asked on the spot who is the half-blood prince in Harry Potter during a ‘phone a friend’ segment, Cummins correctly stated Severus Snape.
It left Andy Lee stunned, but co-host Hamish Blake was supremely confident the paceman would come up trumps.
‘Pat Cummins loves Harry Potter, he adores it,’ Blake said.
‘It is his favourite book, he still reads it as a grown up…I predict this will be over instantly.’

Funny man Blake was spot on, with Cummins jokingly then displaying his sense of humour after telling Lee to ‘grow up.’
It comes as a back injury saw Cummins only play one of five Ashes Tests against England.
The Penrith junior featured in Adelaide, and it proved crucial as the hosts secured the urn after taking a 3-0 series lead.
After Scott Boland took the final wicket, sending his team-mates into a frenzy, Cummins was subdued in comparison.
He quickly found his wife Becky, their young son Albie and baby daughter Edie in the crowd, as the quartet soaked up a family moment.
Cummins is tipped to feature in the T20 World Cup at the business end of the tournament as he nurses his back complaint.
Australia’s group fixtures are against Ireland and Zimbabwe in Colombo and Sri Lanka and Oman in Kandy from February 11.
The Aussies last won the tournament in 2021.
