The Sound Transit agency has developed and released a beta version of a new digital trip planning platform named Sound RideGuide. This tool, which is accessible via its website, is engineered to provide comprehensive regional journey planning by integrating various transportation methods, including public transit, bicycling, scooter and bike-share systems, and park-and-ride options.
A significant feature of the Sound Transit agency’s digital trip planning platform is its ability to deliver personalized real-time service alerts and upfront fare calculations that encompass different payment methods. The Sound RideGuide supports eight languages natively and includes a dedicated accessibility routing function that evaluates and color-codes the wheelchair accessibility of routes, stops, and vehicles. It also offers sophisticated filtering to compare journeys based on duration, cost, and walking distance, while presenting consolidated information for stops serviced by multiple transit operators.
