The Flip 7 FE is designed to be a more affordable entry point into Samsung’s foldable lineup, with the phone starting at $900. This is $200 cheaper than the Flip 7, which starts at $1,100, and significantly cheaper than the Fold 7, which starts at $2,000. The Flip 7 FE is the most affordable foldable ever introduced by Samsung.

Of course, with the cheaper price comes some compromises. Unlike the Flip 7, which has a cover screen that wraps around the rear cameras of the phone, the Flip 7 FE’s cover screen is smaller and doesn’t wrap around the rear cameras. It looks like Samsung has applied the design of the Flip 6 to the Flip 7 FE.

Compared to the Flip 7, which comes in three colors, the Flip 7 FE is available in only two monochrome colors: black and white. It is also only available in two storage configurations: 128GB and 256GB.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2400 chipset (the same processor found in the Galaxy S24 in some regions). The Flip 7 is equipped with the more powerful Exynos 2500 chipset, which, according to initial leaks, isn’t far behind Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, found in the Fold 7 and the Galaxy S25 series.

The Flip 7 FE features a 50-megapixel rear selfie camera, similar to the Flip 7. Samsung described the Flip 7 FE as having a “compact design with big impact” at Unpacked. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is available for pre-order now on Samsung’s website, where you can receive a $50 discount.
