Summary
- Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is the most affordable foldable phone ever introduced by the tech giant.
- The Flip 7 FE features a smaller cover screen and a less powerful chipset compared to the Flip 7.
- It’s available in two monochrome colors (black and white) and has a 50-megapixel selfie camera.
While the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 were the stars of the show at Samsung’s recent Unpacked event, the tech giant also announced the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.
The Flip 7 FE is designed to be a more affordable entry point into Samsung’s foldable lineup, with the phone starting at $900. This is $200 cheaper than the Flip 7, which starts at $1,100, and significantly cheaper than the Fold 7, which starts at $2,000. The Flip 7 FE is the most affordable foldable ever introduced by Samsung.
Of course, with the cheaper price comes some compromises. Unlike the Flip 7, which has a cover screen that wraps around the rear cameras of the phone, the Flip 7 FE’s cover screen is smaller and doesn’t wrap around the rear cameras. It looks like Samsung has applied the design of the Flip 6 to the Flip 7 FE.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2400 chipset (the same processor found in the Galaxy S24 in some regions). The Flip 7 FE features a 50-megapixel rear selfie camera, similar to the Flip 7. Samsung described the Flip 7 FE as having a “compact design with big impact” at Unpacked. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is available for pre-order now on Samsung’s website, where you can receive a $50 discount. This story will be updated with more information as Samsung’s summer Unpacked event unfolds.
