How to get two free Kindle e-books this July as a Prime member

July is finally here, and that means two things. One, we’re officially halfway through the year. And two, it’s once again time to claim your free Kindle e-book as an Amazon Prime member.

Every month, Amazon offers Prime members a free Kindle e-book through its First Reads program, which features a curated selection of new Kindle titles from various genres. Usually, Prime members can choose one free e-book from this selection, along with a bonus short read.

However, for July, Amazon has made a small change to its First Reads program. Instead of receiving just one free Kindle e-book and a bonus short read (which is typically under 50 pages), you’ll now get to choose two free Kindle e-books.

You can check out Amazon’s First Reads program below and grab both of your free Kindle e-books as a Prime member for July. If you don’t have Amazon Prime, it costs $15 monthly or $139 annually.

For July, Amazon’s First Reads program is offering 11 different Kindle e-books, each from a different genre. There’s something for everyone, whether it’s fantasy, crime, romance, mystery, suspense, or more. This month, the two free books I chose are: Who is the Liar, a suspense title by Laura Lee Bahr, and While the Dark Remains, a fantasy novel by Jonna Ruth Meyer.

As an Amazon Prime member, once you claim your free two Kindle e-books, you get to keep them, and they are yours forever. So that means you can take your time to read them or add them to your backlog. If you’re not an Amazon Prime member, you can still look at the books in the First Reads program and choose two books to read, but you’ll need to pay $2 each for them instead of getting them for free.

Here is a list of the titles Amazon is offering this month for First Reads:

  • Out of the Woods: A Girl, a Killer, and a Lifelong Struggle to Find the Way Home (Genre: True Crime)
  • The Fourth Daughter: A Novel (Genre: Family Drama)
  • The Women of Arlington Hall: A Novel (Genre: Historical Fiction)
  • Last Seen (Genre: Psychological Thriller)
  • The Chemistry Test (Genre: Romance)
  • Who is the Liar: A Novel (Genre: Suspense)
  • While the Dark Remains (Genre: Fantasy)
  • The Toy Car: A Short Story (Genre: Women’s Fiction)
  • The Housing Warming: A Novel (Genre: Mystery)
  • Biggest Fake in the Universe (Genre: Middle Grade)
  • The Shelter Within: A True Story (Genre: Essay)

If you don’t have Amazon Prime, now would be a great time to consider subscribing or taking advantage of a free trial. Not only because of the free Kindle e-books through First Reads, but also because its Prime Day sales event is just around the corner, running from July 8 to July 11. Besides Black Friday, Prime Day in July is Amazon’s biggest sale event of the year, and there will be lots of deals to be had, including on Kindles.
