A football club in a quiet Oxfordshire town has been forced to apologise after videos appeared to show a Magic Mike-style event at its clubhouse getting wildly out of hand.
Banbury United FC bills its The Spencer Clubhouse – located on the eastern side of the town, just a short drive from the Cotswolds – as a place where ‘dreams come to life’.
The space at the Southern Premier League side’s TUGO Community Stadium is more used to hosting weddings, birthday parties and corporate events, ensuring visitors’ nights are ‘nothing short of extraordinary’, according to the club’s website.
But in an apparent slip-up of remarkable proportions, on Saturday it played host to an X-rated event which has sparked outrage amongst residents, who live just a short drive from the homes of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and where Beyonce is rumoured to have purchased a property.
Lewd footage posted to social media of the UK Pleasure Boys’ ‘Wet & Wild’ tour – which rolled into ‘community-focused’ Banbury on the weekend – has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.
The clips show male dancers donning cowboy hats dancing – and stripping – on stage before wading into the audience and appearing to perform sex acts on members of a raucous crowd.
So wild is the footage that the club, known as the Puritans, was forced to apologise to ‘everyone who attended the event’, which it said ‘went beyond what we find acceptable at our venue’.
One source familiar with the night said it shows exactly what happens when middle-aged women don’t get to go out enough: ‘I’ve worked in hospitality for a long time. Whenever these events happen the women just go nuts – particularly the mums. I guess if it is your one night out in God knows how long, you are going to need to let off some steam.’
The footage has, however, sparked a debate amongst Banbury locals on social media given the UK Pleasure Boys promised a night of ‘steamy entertainment’.

A male strip show at an Oxfordshire football club appeared to tip wildly over the edge on Saturday night
So wild is the footage that the club, known as the Puritans, was forced to apologise to ‘everyone who attended the event’, which it said ‘went beyond what we find acceptable at our venue’, in an official statement posted on its website – just above a match report from its 1-0 win over Bromsgrove Sporting
The event took place at Banbury United’s The Spencer Clubhouse – though the club has since been forced to apologise to everyone who attended
One wrote: ‘I went! With the expectation of a full Monty style strip show with maybe a flash of some goods at the end, not a porn show!!
‘It was Banbury Utd club house not a strip club and even they have separate private rooms!! Absolutely no need for it.. didn’t offend me just absolutely ruined the night as it was a great laugh until it wasn’t.’
Another wrote: ‘If anyone who went was surprised or offended they really shouldn’t have bought a ticket in the first place!’
One more posted: ‘It was an absolute laugh an were booking again next year when there back.. yes some part of it was like wooah but it clearly stated strippers the lads were absolutely fantastic.’
Another added: ‘Everyone was over 18 so shouldn’t be an issue. If some didn’t like it then they could have walked out! Everyone knows what they are going to see at these and are acting as if they don’t know!’
One person added: ‘From what I’m hearing and seeing all over social media it sounds like a strip show turned into a Roman orgy!’
While a final commenter posted: ‘Oh dear Banbury United.’
According to their Instagram, the UK Pleasure Boys have been on tour for months – and they still have 14 dates remaining, starting with a show this week in Birmingham.
Tickets cost £16.50 for the show, which lasts two hours and 45 minutes, though ‘VIP front row’ seats are available for £27.50.
‘This high-energy, cheeky and electrifying male revue features the country’s hottest performers,’ a description reads.
Yet, in the view of Banbury United, the 18+ show at The Spencer Clubhouse tipped over the edge.
Their statement, released on Tuesday afternoon, read: ‘We are aware of video clips circulating online from the UK Pleasure Boys’ ‘Wet & Wild’ show held at The Spencer Clubhouse on Saturday, October 17. This was a ticket, 18+ event

‘The images suggest that part of the performance towards the end went beyond what we find acceptable at our venue. We apologise to anyone in attendance who was offended.
‘The venue was booked for that evening by an external promoter as part of a UK-wide tour.
‘We are reviewing what happened and will revise our hire and conduct terms for performance events as a result.’
