Leeds were many people’s dark horses this season.
Let’s be honest, most of us thought they were cooked upon their return to the Premier League last campaign. I remember people calling for Daniel Farke to be sacked before a ball was even kicked.
But the German proved a hell of a lot of people wrong, guiding the promoted side to an impressive 14th-placed finish and almost 50 points.
And after improving their squad in the summer, it seems as though Leeds have only got better. Their performances across the first three games of the season have shown that, too.
Three games, zero losses. Not bad.
With the Elland Road crowd backing them tonight, they will be hoping to extend their unbeaten start to the season to four games. I wouldn’t bet against them doing so, either.
And yes, I know they were beaten by Chelsea in teh League Cup the other day, but come on, they put in one hell of a shift and were just beaten by a purely sensational attack in the second half.
Newcastle are not quite the same proposition as the Blues…
