Chelsea’s summer clear-out continues as Blues close in on agreeing staggering £115MILLION double sale of strikers Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson

Chelsea have agreed a staggering £50million sale Liam Delap to Nottingham Forest.

Delap is now in line to leave Stamford Bridge after only a single season, with the Blues having triggered his £30m release clause at Ipswich Town last summer.

He scored one Premier League goal in 28 games in 2025-26, and two in 41 in all competitions.

Delap was missing from the Chelsea squad which defeated Fulham 3-2 in their first Premier League fixture of the season.

The 23-year-old had been training separately to Xabi Alonso’s main group at their Cobham base after being made available for sale, along with Nicolas Jackson.

Jackson is also closing in on a £65m switch to Aston Villa. That would see Chelsea secure their asking price for the 25-year-old Senegalese.

They had been seeking at least £50m for Delap. It is believed Forest’s agreement involves £45m plus £5m in add-ons.

It represents a remarkable profit secured by Chelsea after a disappointing campaign for Delap, whose No 9 shirt was handed to Joao Pedro before this current season started.

Delap had been keen to stay at Chelsea and prove himself, but he became surplus this summer.

With Joao Pedro untouchable at the front of Chelsea’s attack, they also signed Danny Welbeck from Brighton and have Emmanuel Emegha. Jackson and Marc Guiu are in line to leave.
