A Las Vegas Raiders defensive back was carted off after suffering a gruesome lower body injury that puts his season in doubt.
Chigozie Anusiem, a second-year cornerback out of Colorado State, was hurt on a punt in his team’s Thursday evening matchup against the Houston Texans.
Anusiem was looking to defend the Texans’ return when he was dragged down from behind.
The former undrafted player was seen writhing around on the ground in pain as medical staff came out to treat him.
Anusiem’s Raiders teammates then surrounded the player as a medical cart came out to take him off the field.
A vacuum splint was placed on his leg as he was loaded onto the transport.

Anusiem has mostly played on special teams for the Raiders and logged one tackle
His teammates wished him well before he was taken back to the training room.
Moments after the injury, the Raiders officially declared him out for the rest of the game.
The extent of his injury is currently unknown.
Last season, Anusiem played 54 snaps on special teams across three games.
He logged one total tackle, an assist, while on defense last season.
