Candace Cameron Bure Breaks Down Over Years of Hurtful Criticism About Her Voice

Candace Cameron Bure had tears in her eyes as she opened up about the hurtful comments she has received about her voice. The actress often shares personal stories and speaks about inspiration, faith, mental health, parenting, and much more on her podcast, The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast. She also frequently talks about raising her three children with her husband, Valeri Bure.

However, the Full House actress could not hold back her tears while discussing the criticism she has faced over the years and the impact it has had on her.

Candace Cameron Bure opened up about getting criticised over her voice

On a recent episode of her podcast, The CandaceCameron Bure Podcast, she broke down in tears as she revealed that she has faced constant criticism over her voice, with some people calling it annoying. She even went on to quote a comment where someone claimed they had to turn off the TV after hearing her voice. As the actress cried, she explained that she was emotional because she became self-conscious about her voice.

“People always comment [on] how annoying my voice is,” she said on podcast.

Even amid the criticism, what motivated and uplifted her was her faith and the support she received, as the actress recalled on her podcast. She shared how reading Bible verses aloud on social media helped her overcome her insecurity. She revealed that several people appreciated her efforts and even praised her voice, helping her regain confidence.

‘It feels so redemptive that, like, God’s using the very thing that glorifies him and the thing that’s brought me pain and then be rewarded for it,” she said.

Bure has also been open and candid about how she has been affected by criticism and hurtful comments online.

Candace Cameron Bure deleted post after body shaming comments

Back in September 2026, Candace Cameron Bure shared an image of herself on Instagram wearing a two-piece outfit while soaking up the sun. However, several body-shaming comments flooded the comments section, and she later deleted the post. She eventually returned to Instagram and shared another photo of herself wearing a crop top, and that speaks volumes about how she slowly built her confidence.

The actress has also been candid about her struggles with eating disorders and body dysmorphia. She discussed these experiences in greater detail in her 2010 memoir, Reshaping It All. Much like Bure, more Hollywood actresses have come forward to open up about such issues. Bure has repeatedly faced criticism, yet her decision to speak up and share her experiences is inspiring and could encourage others to find their voice and do the same.
