Mall security guard suspended over shocking video of him erupting at lesbian shopper and her girlfriend

An unruly security guard has been suspended after he screamed at a lesbian couple for taking photos inside an Idaho mall.

Alyssa Bratcher and her girlfriend were walking around the Grand Teton Mall over the holiday weekend when they were stopped by a man they said was named Hansen.

With a smirk on his face, he told the women to ‘stop talking’ because they were ‘going to get banned,’ a video posted to Bratcher’s TikTok showed.

Bratcher wrote in her caption that he approached her and her girlfriend because they were taking pictures. In the video, she tells the guard she doesn’t care if he bans them.

The two went back and forth, with Hansen shooting back: ‘If you don’t give a f**k why is your stupid camera f**king rolling?’

Hansen continued to talk over Bratcher, repeatedly telling her with a maniacal look in his eye: ‘But you do care. But you do care.’

Bratcher at one point appeared to tease Hansen before asking: ‘Where’s the backup?’

While they waited for an additional security guard to come outside, other customers could be heard entering and leaving the mall.

Hansen once again told the women they were free to leave, reiterating if they stayed, they’d just get banned.

‘For taking photos?’ Bratcher asked.

‘For being rude, and obnoxious, and not listening to what I’m telling you,’ he said as he stepped closer to her. ‘I’m telling you – I’m telling you not to do it, and you’re not hearing what I’m saying,’ he retorted.

Seconds later, his anger erupted, and he screamed in Bratcher’s face: ‘I’m telling you not to do it!’

In a split second, he seemed to remember he was being filmed, as his eyes zeroed in on the camera Bratcher’s girlfriend was holding. He quickly moved to grab it out of her hand, as Bratcher exclaimed: ‘Oh no!’

Bratcher managed to get the phone, while her girlfriend pushed Hansen away from them and kept a defensive arm between him and them.

‘Hell no, you’re not touching my phone!’ Bratcher screamed at him as the video cut off.

‘He told us we were going to get “banned” when we were simply minding our own business and proceeded to curse and yell at us just for asking why we couldn’t take pictures at the mall,’ Bratcher explained on TikTok.

‘I’m not sure if it was an act of homophobia or simply just rage for no good reason,’ she wrote. ‘His backup arrived and said his officer was in the wrong.’

Bratcher and her girlfriend filed a report against Hansen, she claimed.

‘He is unsafe and dangerous,’ she wrote. ‘Stay safe, everybody!’

GGP, which owns the mall, told the Daily Mail that Hansen has been ‘removed from duty and a review of the incident is now underway by the security company.’

‘Regardless, his behavior does not reflect the standards we expect of those entrusted with maintaining a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for our guests,’ the spokesperson said.

The mall’s code of conduct does not mention a photography rule, only listing profanity, blocking walkways, and excessive loitering as unacceptable behaviors.

‘Guests who do not act responsibly may be asked to leave. If they refuse to leave the property, they may be arrested and prosecuted for criminal trespass,’ its website read.

Police told the East Idaho News that no report has been filed with their department.

The Daily Mail has reached out to the mall and Bratcher for comment.
