Back in March, super stylist Law Roach sparked widespread excitement when he announced that his longtime client and close friend, Zendaya, had secretly married Tom Holland.
As we know, Tom and Zendaya are notoriously private, so, in the months since Law’s reveal, they’ve playfully dodged questions about their rumored marriage. But now, we’ve finally gotten the confirmation we’ve all been waiting for.
In a brand new interview with Esquire UK, Tom was asked about the viral AI-generated wedding photos that were circulating online in March. The images — which depicted the couple exchanging vows and celebrating against a background that looked like Lake Como — were freakily realistic, and Zendaya previously said that “many people” in her life were genuinely fooled by them.
With this in mind, the Esquire UK interviewer, Henry Wong, asked Tom if he had to message any of his family members to let them know that the AI images were fake. In response, he said, “No, because they were all there.” MIC DROP. CUE CHEERS FROM THE CROWD!!!!!
That marks our first direct confirmation from the couple that they did, in fact, tie the knot — although it sounds like we won’t be hearing any more details anytime soon. “That’s all you’ll get on that,” Tom told the interviewer, firmly shutting down any more questions on the topic.
The wedding confirmation comes just one day after Tom and Zendaya kicked off the promo tour for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, making their first red carpet appearance together in over four years — and their first-ever as husband and wife.
Elsewhere in the Esquire UK interview, Tom recalled his first impressions of Zendaya when she auditioned to play MJ in Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016. “Obviously, I was super excited at the prospect of working with her and getting to know her,” he gushed. “She smashed her audition out the park and got the part before she’d even left the room. I remember when she closed the door to leave, [producer] Amy Pascal was immediately like, ‘Well, she’s getting the job.'”
As you may remember, Tom and Zendaya spent years brushing off dating rumors, but eventually went public with their romance in 2021 after they were photographed kissing. Now, Tom’s opened up about finding his “person” in his costar-turned-wife.
“We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it’s like to live this life, and I think that is such a luxury, because I just don’t understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else. So, for me, I found my person,” he said of Zendaya. “She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I ever have been when I’m with her, but I also have never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period.”
Not to get parasocial, but I am SO happy for these two. Congratulations are in order!!! You can read Tom’s entire Esquire UK interview here.
