Katy Perry is one proud mom.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the singer, 41, opened up about motherhood and how she is proud to model herself in a certain way for her young daughter, Daisy Dove.
Recalling the experience of getting to bring Daisy on the road with her for her recent Lifetimes tour in support of her 143 album, Perry said, "It's always incredible when I get to bring my daughter to work."
"I think when mothers can be their most supported, authentic selves, that is always a good template for children to model. And I'm just glad to model a strong, steady, intelligent, funny, weird woman for my beautiful daughter," she added.
Perry —who attended the Tribeca Festival premiere of her latest concert film, Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour — Live from Paris, on Monday, June 8 — shares her 5-year-old child with ex Orlando Bloom.

During the Tribeca event in New York City, Perry took part in a post-screening Q&A with journalist Tomás Mier, a former PEOPLE staffer.
At one point in the conversation, Daisy came up, and Perry said of her child, "She's a force. She tells me exactly what she thinks."

Reiterating her desire to be the best version of herself for Daisy, the "Thinking of You" musician said, "I think, as mothers and fathers, we're just modeling something for our children, and all we can hope for is that they will grow up into better versions of ourselves — and themselves."
"I think if I'm out there living my most authentic, free, supported, empowered, smart, sexy life, and she's going to have a pattern to follow, a model to follow," continued the mother of one.
Following its premiere at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center in New York City, Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour — Live from Paris is set to premiere in theaters later this summer.
