Chasing Michelin Stars’ Season 2 Coming To Apple TV

EXCLUSIVE: Apple TV and Gordon Ramsay are returning to the Knife Edge.

The streamer is making a second season of BAFTA-nominated docuseries Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars, which follows the fates of elite chefs at some of the world’s most celebrated restaurants to determine if they will win, maintain or lose their star.

Hosted by Topjaw’s Jesse Burgess and exploring the high-stakes world of international fine dining, Season 1 highlighted the Nordics’ fastest-ever Michelin Star win at Aure, a fried chicken restaurant shooting for a star in New York at Coqodaq and the latest chase for a star within the Roux family dynasty at Caractère.

“Now, more than ever restaurants around the world are under enormous pressure to not just strive for perfection, but to survive,” said Ramsay. “The economic tolls of an industry struggling, means the stakes have never been so high. With globally evolving dining standards, Knife Edge reveals the stress, the pressure, the resilience needed to hold your nerve in the battle for greatness, it’s honestly brutal.”

Ramsay is an executive producer on Knife Edge and it is produced by his Studio Ramsay Global outfit. Speaking to Deadline last year, the celebrity chef said Knife Edge is a prime example of a show he is not hosting that instead taps into the content creator landscape. Burgess is the founder of hit YouTube culinary platform Topjaw.

Knife Edge was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award but lost out to Channel 4’s Go Back To Where You Came From. It is EP’d by Ramsay, Lisa Edwards, Lorraine Charker-Phillips and Jill Greenwood. James Callum is the series director.

Studio Ramsay recently landed its first scripted project, an adaptation of Kathleen Flinn’s The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry starring Rachel Bilson for Fox Entertainment Studios.
