With a lot of market volatility around, now could be a good time for income investors to look for stocks offering attractive dividend yields.
Fortunately, the UK market has plenty of options to consider, with many established businesses offering yields above 5%. These could potentially give investors a useful income stream for years to come.
Here are two UK dividend stocks I think are worth exploring before November.
FTSE 100
Aviva (LSE:AV.) has transformed itself in recent years under CEO Amanda Blanc. Most overseas operations where there wasn’t much synergy with the wider business have been sold, putting the firm on a much stronger financial footing.
With streamlined operations and a narrower focus, the insurance giant’s growing nicely. Operating earnings per share (EPS) rose 10% to 31.8p in the first half of 2026, keeping Aviva on track to achieve its target of 11% annualised growth in operating EPS between 2025 and 2028.
Investors have taken note and the share price is up 80% in three years, far outpacing the FTSE 100. Yet the interesting thing here is the dividend yield’s still attractive at 5.6%.
Even better, the payout’s forecast to rise to 44.5p per share next year. This translates into a 6.2% prospective yield.
The biggest risk is probably an economic downturn in the UK, where it has nearly 22m of its 25.3m customer base. A recession could see people cut back on discretionary insurance.
But with the stock offering a 6%+ yield, I reckon it looks enticing. It’s one I’m keeping for passive income.
FTSE 250
Next, we have Hollywood Bowl (LSE:BOWL). The FTSE 250 stock’s down 17% over the past couple of years as the cost-of-living crisis has dragged on. With household bills rising, more family trips to play 10-pin bowling could sadly be sacrificed.
Yet the company’s actually performing well considering the tough backdrop. In the 12 months to 30 September, group revenue increased 4.3% to a record £261.6m, despite the hot UK summer impacting trading.
CEO Stephen Burns commented: “Our affordable, inclusive proposition has continued to ensure we are well-positioned in an environment where consumers are closely watching what they spend.”
Looking past this tricky environment, there’s a long-term growth story here. Hollywood Bowl’s replicating its UK expansion playbook in the fragmented Canadian market, where it’s aiming for 35 bowling centres by 2032 (up from 16 today).
In total, the company’s targeting 130 centres by 2033, up from 95 today. Note that the company has a strong balance sheet to support this expansion.
Trading at 11 times forward earnings for this financial year, the stock looks too cheap to me. But don’t take my word for it, as not a single City broker has a price target lower than the current share price. Indeed, the average target is 40% higher!
Given its market-leading offerings in the UK and Canada, the strength of the balance sheet and the strong pipeline, we remain bullish on the outlook for Hollywood Bowl.
Berenberg Bank
Note that Berenberg has the most bullish target in the City — 450p. That’s 65% higher!
Of course, these targets may not come to fruition. But they do at least suggest the stocks undervalued right now.
The icing on the cake? A 5.1% dividend yield.
